One can claim 100% recycled cobalt under the mass balance system even if recycled and non-recycled cobalt was mixed as long as the total amount used in production is less or equal to recycled cobalt purchased in the books. At least here[0] they claim their recycled cobalt references are under the mass balance system.

With the amount of money which is created and transferred today it would be a task for one day to lift a whole country out of poverty. 1 million into an savings account with 4% return would be roughly 3k per month.

Anything intelligence enough to find us, or be putting out signals we can find with instructions on how we can reply in a reasonable number of human lifetimes, is intelligent enough to stay well hidden for us lest we infect them with our stupidity!

The inconsistency in the Starlink data would suggest that they make use of different options to determine to which country their devices get applied to.

As mentioned here Starlink could provide very precise location and limit access but as growing service it’s more valuable to break rules for wider adoption.

And who could punish Starlink? Only the US and they are interested to let this player getting big and regulate later.

Yeah, shoot down the satellites of an American company when you know:

1. That company provides satellite service for military units

2. That company's boss was recently a member of the US government, and is notably close friends with the US leadership

This will not go well. If a small dictatorial country does this, it would simply invite a rain of cruise missiles.

So I think SpaceX will likely continue as is.

Both of those would be features if you were, say, Iran immediately after the US bombed your nuclear facilities.

Neither of those would be much of a deterrent to a country like China (though the loss of their own orbital assets in similar orbital shells might be a deterrent for them).

Except that is complete fantasy. SpaceX capability of deploying Starlink is significantly great then anybodies capability of destroying them. And countries don't just have orbit sat weapon in mass production.
